Kindy C
3 to 4 yearsKindy C
Our Kindy C room is designed for children aged 3 to 4 years old. Children in this room are given the opportunity to explore new ideas and concepts while also preparing them for the preschool room the following year. Children begin to develop certain skill sets as a result of the play-based programme, which extends on their interests and incorporates activities that help them achieve goals set by their parents and educators. In this age group, children begin to dress themselves, choose activities, become aware of other children, and form friendships in order to develop independence skills. Children are given the opportunity to contribute their ideas and activities that they would like to participate into the programme.
For our programming we use the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
Kindy C caters for up to 28 children, aged 3 to 4 years with a 1: 11 ratio.
Some examples of activities that the child at this developmental stage should be doing:
- uses objects and materials to build or construct things, e.g., block tower, puzzle, clay, sand and water
- asks many questions
- hops, jumps and runs with ease
- understands when someone is hurt and comforts them
- shares, smiles and cooperates with peers
- holds crayon/pencil etc. between thumb and first two fingers
